2024 Shimane Prefecture Glocal Human Resource Development Support Project - Recruitment of International Students to be Sent Overseas

Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Shimane Prefecture Glocal Human Resource Development Support Program for Overseas Students.

Overseas Training Programs

1. Short-term study abroad

 This program is designed for those who wish to study abroad at our partner schools or other educational institutions during summer or spring vacation. Through the experience of studying at educational and research institutions around the world and interacting with local people, you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a global human resource. In many cases, you do not have to pay tuition at the partner school. If you meet the criteria, you can receive credit for special studies (such as overseas language training) at our schools.

Scholarship: Tobitate Study Abroad Japan, Overseas Study Program for Students by the Organization of National Colleges of Technology (short-term (less than 15 days on-site stay): 50,000 yen*, long-term (more than 15 days on-site stay): 100,000 yen**)

*Support criteria are based on academic performance **Support criteria are TOEIC score of 550 or higher

2.Long-term study abroad

  This program is designed for those who wish to study abroad at our partner schools and other educational institutions for a minimum of three months to one year. Through the experience of studying at educational and research institutions around the world and interacting with local people, you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a global human resource. In many cases, you do not have to pay tuition at the partner school. If you meet the criteria, you can receive credit for special studies (such as overseas language training) at our schools.

Scholarships: Tobitate Exchange Student Japan, Shimane Prefecture Glocal Human Resource Development Project (for 4th year students and above who will study abroad for 60 days or more for one year or less; 150,000 yen per month in 2024), Overseas Study Program Support Grant for Students by the Organization of National Colleges of Technology (long-term (15 days or more of local stay): 100,000 yen**), Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)

**Support standard is TOEIC score of 550 or higher

3. Overseas Experience Program

  This program is designed for those who would like to go abroad with other students under the guidance of a technical college faculty member during the summer or spring vacation. Information on each program for the current academic year will be announced by the person in charge through Teams (for students) and the Sakura Contact Network (for parents) as needed.

Scholarship: Overseas Study Scholarship for Students of National Colleges of Technology (Short-term (less than 15 days): 50,000 yen*)

*Support criteria are based on academic performance. 

4. Participation in international conferences abroad

 This is a training program in which you will participate in international academic conferences together with your laboratory supervisor. Through the experience of interacting with researchers from around the world at international academic conferences, acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a global human resource.

Scholarship: Overseas Dispatch Scholarship for Students by the Organization of National Colleges of Technology (Short-term: 50,000 yen*), scholarship for advanced engineering students (Matsue Techno Forum Support Grant + Support Grant for Participation in International Conferences; maximum 150,000 yen for 2024)

5. Study Abroad in Japan (Global Studies Program: ISA)

 This program allows you to experience a simulated study abroad experience during a long holiday in Japan (Matsue National College of Technology). International students living in Japan who are struggling to realize their dreams will support you in a fun atmosphere. If you meet the criteria, you can receive credits for special studies (such as overseas language training) at our school.

Scholarship: On-campus global project expenses

6. Consultation Service

 The Matsue National College of Technology International Exchange Committee and Global Project Office support you in your efforts to spread your wings to the world. Please feel free to come to the Global Commons (3rd floor of Building 1), International Exchange Committee Chair (Prof. Hattori: in Faculty Room 131), and International Exchange Vice-Chair (Prof. Hashimoto: in Faculty Room 443) for consultation.
